Gard is a world-leading marine and energy insurer with more than 770 staff in 14 offices around the world. As the marine and energy industry evolves, our communications team supports colleagues and leadership with clear and consistent messaging, engages with stakeholders across the maritime sector, and plays a key part in driving Gard’s long-term strategy.

What we are looking for

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Communication Executive to join our team in Arendal. You will drive strategic and corporate communications, create high-quality content, and contribute to projects and communication initiatives that promote business goals and build brand strength across all channels. This is a role for someone with passion for writing and accuracy - and has a good understanding of how effective communication can create an impact.

Key responsibilities:

  • Write, edit and refine content for a variety of platforms, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with Gard’s brand and tone of voice.
  • Collaborate with leaders and subject matter experts to translate business goals into strategic communication.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including journalists and industry partners, to enhance Gard’s visibility and reputation.
  • Develop and implement communication plans and campaigns across all channels, including web, social media, newsletters and internal communication platforms.
  • Support and take part in coordinating crisis communication.

Skills and requirements:

  • Proven experience in editorial work, including writing, editing, and proofreading for varied platforms and audiences.
  • Strong command of English and good Norwegian language (written and spoken), with an ability to craft clear, efficient and engaging messaging.
  • Background in strategic communications, media, PR, or marketing.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate across cross-functional, diverse and international teams.
  • Proficiency in digital communication platforms and content creation tools (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Knowledge of insurance, finance or shipping is valued.
